It's fully voice acted, which is a pleasant surprised, because the visuals - while appropriate for the theme and not bad to look at - certainly belie their budget origins. Cheap deaths are usually easily solved (because they were inflicted cheaply in the first place). Frankly, they just need to balance the damage you take better. It's pretty telling there's literally a menu option to SKIP THIS SECTION OF THE GAME ENTIRELY. And again the boss fight is just as shitty as the others - one mistake, you're back to fighting it afresh. Take everything you learned so far, your weapons, powerups - throw ALL of that away, even the body switching mechanic (mostly you still need it here to perform omgwtfbbq 1-second swaps), and replace it with an extremely un-fun section that drags way too long (nevermind I found a dev comment on a Steam thread mentioning they cut it to half the original size already, WTF). Then there was that tedious rescue mission, oh my god. In later areas even the turrets do this, blasting away with multiple salvos in one pass, pretty much removing any reason for you even having a goddamn health bar. The health bar works for when you're running around and dealing with the small fry, but come a boss fight and you're pretty much gonna get killed the moment you make a mistake or two. It's tight enough for a platformer, but there are way too many oneshots that can happen to you. While I liked the characters and the setting, the gameplay. I didn't spend the whole 2 weeks playing it btw - more like 1 weekend + another weekend + today since I just remembered I ragequit this game but it felt like the end was near so I started it a couple hours ago. Then go to where your game is installed e.g. Go find the \Appdata\Roaming\unepic\ folder it just created and CUT the \save\ folder out from there. What you need to do is play until you get to the first 3D printer save point, then alt-tab out of your game. It can't read from there however, so when it tries to load the game it won't find a save (which is why you'll be restarted to the very beginning of the game). Seems this is a known bug for the current (v1.1.8b) release, see: Īpparently the game fails to create a \save\ folder during installation, so when it tries to save it defaults instead to a path under your user folder, \AppData\Roaming, and creates an \unepic\save\ folder there. Just downloaded Ghost 1.0 yesterday evening, when my first death booted me right back to the start of the tutorial cutscene.
